FAQ

WHAT IS THE FORMAT OF THE WORKSHOP?

There will be a basic review of some of the Healing Touch interventions, although this is not a HT Level I equivalent. It will familiarize the participant with the interventions, which they will practice and experience on each other, first. There will be an extensive presentation about the contents listed, in theory.

ARE THERE LIVE DEMONSTRATIONS?

The instructor will be giving several sessions to demonstrate. Both mom (and/or dad) and baby are active participants. First will be an explanation to the parent about what Healing Touch is, and if (s)he feels comfortable with the process that will be applied to the infant, or if they would prefer to have a taste for themselves first. Then, the order of the treatment will be determined by the parent. A history will be obtained from the parent, along with a description of the birth, and any pertinent subsequent events. What follows is an energetic assessment, and a Healing Touch energy treatment. If the parent would like to learn the technique, there will follow a more in-depth explanation. Then when the parents and baby leave, there will be a discussion of the session, the effects and any observations. At that time, questions will be answered.

The parent will also be given the option of continuing to receive free HT treatments from a volunteer in the workshop, usually someone who is geographically convenient.

Parents have responded favorably to this event. So have the babies!!

WILL THE PARTICIPANTS BE ABLE TO PRACTICE ON THE BABIES?

Yes, but only if there are enough babies! There is time scheduled on the second day for full treatments with both parent and baby.

WHO INVITES THE FAMILIES TO THE WORKSHOP?

The coordinator does, as well as all of the participants.

WHO IS THE PROVIDER OF THE CONTINUING EDUCATION CONTACT HOURS?

The Healing Touch Program is approved as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the Colorado Nurses Association. In addition, the program provides continuing education to massage therapists and bodyworkers through the approval of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork under Category A.

A certificate of attendance is granted at the end of the workshop.

HOW MANY CONTACT HOURS ARE GIVEN FOR THIS WORKSHOP?

The workshop has several formats, as far as length. It varies from nine to fifteen contact hours. It would be best to contact the coordinators listed at your preferred location to determine the amount.

HOW MUCH DOES THE WORKSHOP COST?

The fee for the workshop varies depending on the number of contact hours. Again, contact the coordinator to find out how much each particular workshop costs.

ARE THERE DISCOUNTS FOR STUDENTS?

Full time students with proof of ID are granted a healthy discount. On the average, students pay around $100.
